For over 30 years neuromuscular dentists have used the relaxed position of the head and neck muscles to define the most comfortable and natural position for the jaw; this optimal positioning allows the teeth to come together for correct occlusion (bite). When the jaw is not in this position a patient will suffer from occlusal disease (misaligned bite) or a chronic condition know as Tempromandibular Joint Disorder (TMD or TMJ).
